Summer Panic

I've been noticeably absent from this blog. It's summer, my favorite season. The more heat and humidity, the better. Most of you are probably rolling your eyes right now and calling my crazy. The rest of you know may know precisely what I am talking about when I mention the SUMMER PANIC. In these three months, we need to soak in enough sun and fun to last the rest of the year. We need to do enough swimming, beaching, BBQing, swinging and sliding so that in February, when the walls of our houses are closing in around us, we can remember why we live in the great Midwest.

Our family has been busy this summer, living every day to the fullest. We've climbed the playgrounds of Michigan while visiting family.

We've shoveled the beaches of Wisconsin during the Eddie Jones Summer Regional.

We spent a wonderful week in Disney World exploring the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, The Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios (thanks Mom!!).

And we've been tourists in our own town at the Chicago Children's Museum with the Asialas, events at the Bartlett library, the Brookfield Zoo, and the Arboretum.

Charlie even had his first taste of ice cream!

Despite all of this excitement, I am still in a summer panic. I don't want to waste a single second of this wonderful season. There remain pools to splash in, beaches to shovel, playgrounds to climb, ice cream to eat, zoos to explore, and airplane rides to be had.

As an aside -- I found time to write this blog because it is raining outside and my kids are glued to the television watching Power Rangers, something TJ discovered while at Hollywood Studios in Disney. I leave you with the below pictures. He started posing like this unprompted after seeing the Power Rangers do a little show before signing autographs. I actually fell over in laughter.
