The greatest weekend measured by just misses....

A sure fire way to tell you're having a great time: You can't get anyone to sit still for long enough to take a picture.

Alan, Jill and Thomas Asiala, some of our longest and dearest friends, came to visit this weekend. We have the greatest time when we get together -- So much so that I can't seem to catch it on camera. For example, Thomas is AWESOME at hitting the baseball. He puts his whole body into the swing and really hits the ball hard. I tried to get a picture... but just missed and instead got a picture of Thomas and Alan celebrating.

Along the same lines, Billy is getting really good at kicking the ball. He and Jill played some one on one and Billy got the ball right by her. That would have been a great picture, but, of course, I just missed it.

Today we showed them one of our favorite places, the Morton Arboretum. Everyone had a great time, and, you guessed it, I just missed capturing it on camera.

I just missed Thomas's smile as he explored the digging garden,

I just missed Billy as he made funny faces out the port hole in the play ship,

And I just missed the perplexed looks as we tried to find our way out of the maze garden (we let the three year olds lead the way...),

This weekend was one of the best we've had in a long time and we owe it to the Asialas. They are great people! I cheerish every moment I get to spend with them, Jill in particular. She is an amazing mom and friend and just an all around great person. She even reminded me to move Charlie into the family picture before she took it.

At least this time he is the baby who is sleeping closer to the family, instead of off to the side : ) Thanks Jill!!
